The past year marked the beginning of fully implementing the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the CPC. It was a year of economic recovery and development following three years of pandemic control. We have been progressing steadily on the broad Chinese path of modernization, striving to write a new chapter for Hongda Civil Explosives.
This year, we have engraved our footprints with the spirit of "listening to the directions set by the Party and following its command." We have thoroughly implemented Guangdong Hongda's development strategy, taking on new missions and tasks in the construction of Chinese modernization as a state-owned enterprise. Our actions have demonstrated unwavering support for the "two establishes" and the "two upholds." We have earnestly carried out themed education on studying and implementing Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, guiding Party members and officials to learn ideas, strengthen Party consciousness, emphasize practice, and make new achievements. The enthusiasm for innovation and entrepreneurship among all employees is high as we embark on a new journey with vigor.
This year, we have showcased our responsibility of "overcoming difficulties and bravely breaking through." With firm confidence and steady determination, we focused on annual business goals, pushing forward 65 key tasks. We comprehensively enhanced our safety governance system and capabilities, employing strategic planning for three markets. Our high-quality development has reached new heights in both value and driving force, achieving a 35% increase in net profit for the year.
This year, we have documented our innovative practices of "self-reliance and self-improvement to promote development." We thoroughly implemented the innovation-driven development strategy by establishing the Blasting Research Institute at the beginning of the year, making solid strides towards leading transformative development with core technologies. We guided the research and development of customized products and promoted deep integration of industry, university, and research with the company at the forefront. Our technological advancements were notable, with the CZED-1 electronic detonator assembly technology and automated production line winning the first prize at the 8th China Society of Explosives and Blasting Science and Technology Awards. We innovated cost control concepts and methods, seeing initial success in refined management and creating a culture of systematic potential tapping. We deepened on-site production cost control, enhanced refined management levels, comprehensively benchmarked against industry standards, accelerated the consolidation and realignment in eastern Guangdong, and vigorously built the Hongda system and civil explosives peer group purchasing platform.
This year, we resonated with the strongest notes of "empowerment through reform, courage to lead." We strengthened empowerment through reform, driving the transformation from a supplier of civil explosives products to a provider of blasting solutions. We solidified the integrated business of "civil explosives and blasting" in Guangdong Province, combined and released the capacity for packaged and bulk explosives, preemptively established ground bulk stations within the province, and deepened internal resource sharing within the Hongda system. Embracing the pioneering spirit of Guangdong, we relocated our headquarters to Inner Mongolia to be closer to the market frontline, aligning with the "Belt and Road" initiative, and establishing a significant northern gateway to support the opening up of Inner Mongolia. We expanded into overseas markets, successfully embarking on the path of internationalization.
This year, we have written vivid stories of "practicing Hongda's corporate culture." We embraced the mission of cultural heritage, conducting continuous corporate culture workshops with member enterprises, fostering a shared destiny community. We vigorously promoted various training programs such as the "New Youth Plan," middle and senior leadership development, and international management to enhance capacity building and deepen inter-company exchanges. Upholding the core values of "Achieve Win-Win Cooperation with Integrity And Innovation," guided by strategic objectives, we have initially formed a unified front for Guangdong's civil explosives sector. By uniting various forces, we aim to build a healthy industry ecosystem and stand as guardians of the civil explosives industry.
What seems ordinary can be extraordinary; achievements that seem easy are often hard-earned. Reflecting on the past year, what remains in our hearts is unwavering faith and a committed stance. With a promising start, the journey ahead is long and full of challenges. This year marks a crucial period for the implementation of the "14th Five-Year Plan" in the civil explosives industry. Guided by Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era and under the leadership of Guangdong Hongda, we will embrace an international perspective to create a new landscape for the civil explosives sector. We will adhere to the general principle of pursuing progress while ensuring stability, anchor our development strategy, and deeply advance the 7S Methodology + safety production standardization and the "Industrial Internet + Safety Production" system construction. Our aim is to build a distinctive safety management system and culture, strengthen and effectively utilize the Hongda system resource platform, accelerate domestic and international mergers and acquisitions, and create a global supply chain that serves the goal of "one Hongda domestically and abroad." We will optimize the entire talent selection, cultivation, and retention chain, drive technological innovation, benchmark industry management, and refine cost control to enhance product quality and service standards continually, thereby shining the Hongda Civil Explosives brand. Together with enterprises across the entire industry chain, we will maintain an orderly market environment and reshape the high-quality development of the civil explosives industry.
